Bender: But [inspector] five’s the one we want. Maybe if I kick the asses of inspector two plus inspector three…
Hermes: Addition never solved anything, mon!
Quick Facts:
Season 6, Episode 6
Original Airdate – July 22, 2010
Written by – Eric Horsted
Directed by – Ray Claffey
Plot: Bender (John DiMaggio) discovers that he was built without a backup unit and can, like his human friends, die. Together with Hermes Conrad (Phil LaMarr), he seeks out the inspector who originally approved him, despite knowing his flaw but desiring revenge.
Where is the Archive?: In their search for the mysterious Inspector #5, Hermes and Bender fail to find them in the Central Bureaucracy’s digital database. Their next course of action is to search the physical files, which consists of a single filing cabinet in the middle of a very large, empty space.
What Does It All Mean?: Regardless of the action movie/conspiracy thriller homage happening within the episode, the physical archive is still located in an out-of-way, nondescript location. Then again, that could describe the entire Central Bureaucracy. Personally, I’m quite tickled at the image of Bender shaking his fist at a sign that says “Archives.”
